NSW: Bandits rob hotel, bash staff
SYDNEY, Feb 14 AAP - Armed bandits burst into a hotel in Sydney's inner west this morning,bashing two staff members and making off with a bundle of cash.
Police said a group of four or five men, one armed with a gun, smashed their way througha side door of the Leichhardt hotel at around 12.30am (AEDT).
They allegedly hit a security guard on the head with a metal bar and took money fromthe cash register and safe before hitting a female employee with a metal bar also.
The men fled the premises in a maroon Nissan Pulsar hatchback.
The two injured employees were this morning in a satisfactory condition at Royal PrinceAlfred Hospital.
